They thought Jesus was lying about being the Son of God. They were also afraid of losing power because they knew that if people believed him, they would follow him

He was a tower of fire at night and a column of smoke by day (Exo 13:21)

The Holy Spirit made his heart generous. He cared more about God's family than his land
