Why was there so many religious changes during the Tudor dynasty?

Henry VIII did not get a divorce from pope, so he changed the country from Catholic to protestant. The children he got after this divorce therefore became protestant, however his first daugther remained catholic. Therefore, Mary tried to make the country Catholic again when she was Queen, buy buring protestants. Elizabeth was the last one, who tried making peace between the two religions again.
