This is the feeling of pressure, worry, or tension that can happen when something feels difficult or overwhelming.
What is stress?
This means caring about someone’s struggle and wanting to help.
What is compassion?
Nodding, making eye contact, and focusing on the speaker are examples of this skill.
What is active listening?
These are the beliefs or ideas that matter most to a person and can guide their choices.
What are core values?
Saying “I am bad at this” and giving up is an example of this type of mindset.
What is a fixed mindset?
This type of health can affect your mood, stress level, and emotions.
What is physical health?
This word means the way someone sees or understands a situation.
What is perspective?
This means both people give a little to solve a problem fairly.
What is compromise?
Before making a decision, you should think about your options and possible this.
What are consequences/outcomes?
Saying “I am not good at this yet, but I can improve with practice” is an example of this type of mindset.
What is a growth mindset?
These are people, places, situations, or events that can cause stress.
What are stressors?
These are unwritten “rules” or expectations about how people act in a group or society.
What are social norms?
This person helps or supports someone who is being bullied instead of just watching.
What is an upstander?
This means thinking back on a decision to decide what went well, what did not, and what you could do differently next time.
What is reflection?
This type of statement helps you express your feelings without blaming someone else, such as “I feel frustrated when…”
What is an "I-statement"?
You feel yourself getting angry, so you pause, take deep breaths, and give yourself space before responding. This is an example of this self-management skill.
What is de-escalation / emotional regulation?
This word means differences among people, including culture, background, ability, race, ethnicity, gender, interests, and experiences.
What is diversity?
Saying “No,” giving a reason, suggesting something else, and walking away are examples of these skills.
