• Inform the student that the first step is to speak directly with their high school counselor or Dual Credit Liaison, as the Dual Credit approval process begins with the high school.
• Explain that the counselor will review eligibility and begin the Dual Credit course approval process.
• Send a follow-up email connecting the student with their assigned high school Dual Credit Liaison.
• You may provide general information regarding the Dual Credit program offered at that high school.
• Inform the student they must apply to Dallas College as a Dual Credit student, obtain a Dallas College Student ID number, and provide that ID number to their high school Dual Credit Liaison or counselor.

Definition

• An underpayment is a balance that should have been covered by the participating high school or district.

If assigned to you:

• Verify the balance and term in Workday under Financials.
• Review the account to confirm the correct semester.
• Email your Educational Partnerships Manager and include the student.
• Include the term and balance amount.
• Inform the student that review typically takes 2–5 business days.
• Do not guarantee the balance will be covered.

15 Credit Hour Rule

• Non-degree seeking dual credit students (with less than 15 credit hours) are eligible to enroll in TSI required courses (ex. ENGL 1301, MATH 1314), without meeting the college readiness requirements.
• Dual credit students who have earned 15 credits or more, are required to meet college readiness requirements before registering for TSI required courses. This applied to all courses including retakes.
