Who should you avoid hanging around?
Heavy drinkers and gluttons.

"Do not associate with heavy drinkers of wine, or with gluttonous eaters of meat."
What should you direct your heart toward?
The way of the Lord.
Proverbs 23:19
"Listen, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way of the Lord."
What should you control if you have a huge appetite?
Your appetite.
Proverbs 23:2
"For you will put a knife to your throat if you are a man of great appetite."
What should you apply your heart to?
Discipline.
Proverbs 23:12
"Apply your heart to discipline and your ears to words of knowledge."
What makes parents rejoice?
A righteous and wise child.
Proverbs 23:24
"The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, and he who sires a wise child will have joy in him."
What happens to people who live without self-control?
They end up in poverty.
Proverbs 23:21
"For the heavy drinker and the glutton will come to poverty, and the drowsiness of overindulgence will clothe one with rags."
What should children receive from loving parents?
Discipline.

"Do not withhold discipline from the child; if you swat him with a reed-like rod, he will not die."
Why shouldn't you crave fancy food from someone with hidden motives?
Because it can be deceptive.

Someone who refuses wisdom.

What can discipline rescue someone from?
Death (Sheol). = HELL

"You shall swat him with the reed-like rod and rescue his life from Sheol."
What should you stop chasing?
Wealth.

"Do not weary yourself with the overwhelming desire to gain wealth; cease from your own understanding of it."
Who protects the fatherless?
Their strong redeemer. GOD

"For their Redeemer is strong and mighty; He will plead their case against you."
Who should you NOT be jealous of?
Sinners.

"Do not let your heart envy sinners, but continue to live in the fear of the Lord day by day."
What happens to your thinking when you're controlled by alcohol?
You see strange things and speak foolishly.

What makes a parent's heart glad?
A wise heart.

Why shouldn't money become your focus?
Because it doesn't last.

Wanting more even after being hurt by it.

Speaking what is right.
