Describe how the sepoy rebellion broke out.

After the corps of sepoys refused to use the cartridges, they were disbanded. Those who did not were mocked and jeered at. When rumors began to spread that they would also be made slaves. They set upon the town with arms, killing British soldiers and citizens alike.
