I have not seen a better or more radiant day than when he came to us in Madinah.
They prayed towards Jerusalem for sixteen months, even though the Muslims and the Prophet SWS wanted to face Makkah. They disliked facing Jerusalem but did it anyway. Why the delay in changing it to Makkah?
First Allah tested their hearts for taqwa and their submission to the command of Allah. Then He turned His Messenger and the Muslims towards the Ka'bah.
Years and years later, when Persia was conquered, the bracelets of Chosroes were brought to 'Umar RA, who was the khalifah at the time.
He summoned Suraqah ibn Malik and put the royal insignia on him.

He realized, when chasing the Propeht SWS and Abu Bakr RA, his horse falling three times was a miracle to protect the Prophet SWS, so instead of attacking, he asked for protection, and the Prophet SWS said to Suraqah,
'How will you feel when you are wearing the bracelets of Chosroes?'

Think back to the difficult years in Makkah, when the weak Muslims were beingn tortured.
Fast-forward to Madinah, what was one reason the Prophet SWS chose Bilal RA to give the Athan?
Allah rewards those by their actions. Bilal RA's screams echoed through the deserts of Makkah, "Ahad, Ahad", and he never gave in to the torture of the Makkans.
Now, Allah SWT granted him a status where his voice would echo through Madinah, now with honor and dignity.
When the Quraysh tracked down the Prophet PBUH and Abu Bakr (RA) to the cave of Thawr, Allah SWT sent a spider to spin a web at the entrance. Had the Quraysh simply looked down, they would have seen them.
Abu Bakr (RA) said to the Prophet, "Messenger of Allah, if one of them steps forward, he will see us!"
