Levels of Organization
It's Giving Living
Biological Molecules and Me
Hey, they got an Enzyme for that?
Misc.
100

The lowest Level of Organization. Makes up all states of matter. Your solids....Your Liquids...Your gases...Even Plasma.

What are Atoms?

100

When an Organism (baby hippo) exhibits all 7 properties of life.

What is Biotic?

100

These four macromolecules are pivotal to the function of life and are thus called "Biomolecules". Covering all aspects such as: energy creation & storage, structure & growth, and storing genetic information, among many other things.

What are: Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins & Nucleic Acids?

100

This molecule is a biological catalyst. It belongs to the biomolecule group of proteins. Helps lower the activation energy for chemical reactions.

What are enzymes?

100

This extracurricular club meets in Mr. Chambers' classroom (Room 14) every Thursday during Lunch and Friday after school.

What is Film Club?

200

A group of Organs working together to create a complex structure with a complex function. Examples include digestion, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular.

What are Organ Systems?

200

When an object of matter does not exhibit all 7 properties of life.

What is abiotic?

200

The three main elements that show up in all four biomolecules. Both Carbohydrates & Lipids are made entirely of these 3 elements alone.

What are Carbon, Hydrogen & Oxygen?

200

This molecule binds to enzymes. So far in this class our main examples have been carbohydrates in the form of sugars such as Lactase.

What are Substrates?

200

This is one of the two birthstones for those born in October. It comes in many colors and Mr. Chambers owns a few of these varieties (black, pink, green). This is the stone that was given to each and every one of you from the Cube.

What is Tourmaline?

300

This level of Organization's abbreviation is a slang for soda, but is also found on signs when you are entering a new town or city. It is the number of organisms of a single species in any given area.

What is a  Population?

300

One is a group of single species and the other is all living things in a given area.

What is the difference between population and community?

300

These monomers are the "Lego Bricks" of Proteins.

What are Amino Acids?

300
What is created after the Enzyme-Substrate Complex. Normally done through a physical change. Shares its name with the answer to multiplication problems.

What is the product?

300

This is the venue of the wedding of Mr. Chambers' friend. Located in San Louis Obispo, every room has a unique theme (Mr. Chambers' was a Mountain Lodge). It shares the name with a famous popstar who's 1989 smash song "Like a Prayer" was used in this year's "Deadpool&Wolverine".

What is the Madonna Inn?

400

These small abiotic structures perform functions within the cell. The most common example is that the Mitochondria is the "Powerhouse" of the Cell.

What are Organelles?

400

There is a property of life that states all living things are made up this level of organization, that is also the smallest unit of life.

What are Cells?

400

This Polysaccharide is something that can't be broken down easily without its enzyme. This is found in dairy.

What is Lactose?

400

The two factors that lead to Enzyme Denaturation.

What is Temperature and pH?

400

This 20 year old animated sequel was a success, grossing $935 million at the worldwide. Features an  original song from Counting Crows, this sequel expands on the marriage of the titular character and Princess Fiona. It was watching a commercial for this movie, Mr. Chambers discovered his ability to click his tongue quite loud.

What is Shrek 2?

500

The Level of Organization shown here is a picture of the Arctic Tundra

What is Biome?

500

This Property of life is also a Biological Process. Helping regulate internal processes of the body. An example being when you have a fever, it is a result of your body fighting off an infection using antibodies. Sounds like when you are conflicted about whether your friend and their sister should stay or go.

What is Homeostasis?

500

This Biomolecule's purpose is store genetic information. Contains the element Phosphorus. The monomers have 4 main distinct varieties.

What are Nucleic Acids?

500

This model is used to describe the relationship between Enzymes and Substrates. This model ties the functions of the molecules to that of common household items.

What is Lock and Key Model?

500

"Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy" are lyrics from the song "Take it Easy", the only song by this California band Mr. Chambers enjoys. Named after a type of majestic bird, also a football team.

What are The Eagles?
