Even though Saratoga was a major victory, the excitement was short lived as the men prepared for winter. In December of 1777, Washington took the army to (Blank) in Pennsylvania. One Confederate General was credited with helping to turn the battle in favor of the Confederates during the Battle of Manassas.  His name was (blank) and from that day forward he was known by his famous nickname - “(blank).” It was said that he stood up against the Union army attacks at Manassas like a “stone wall” and refused to retreat.
