 It took 50 years to build and was full of elaborate rooms. Hundreds of candles were lit every night for balls, parades and concerts. Unfortunately, many, many men died due to the poor working conditions.

He realized that the Han outnumbered the Manchu. In order to maintain power, and not be overrun by the Han, he claimed the Manchu had liberated the Han from the Ming Dynasty. He cut taxes and China prospered.

Jahangir’s son Shah Hahan (King of the World) began to rule in 1628. He ruled with his wife. When his wife died, Shah Jahan grieved deeply. He built the gorgeous Taj Mahal in her memory.

He forced them to move to Versailles and pay attention to court manners. Noblemen and women spent all of their time trying to please the king. He wanted them to spend money in order to make them more loyal.

Why was Charles I a hated king? 

He dismissed Parliament when it wouldn’t give him the money he wanted and ruled as an absolute ruler. He placed restrictions on religious followers and he used the army against his own people.

He was faced with many deaths in his family. He himself had an infection and died from gangrene. When he died his only remaining grandson, a sickly 5 year old, inherited the throne of France.
