100

What is the longest bone in the human body?

what is the Femur

100

What does the circulatory system do?

What is the transportation system (delivers nutrients and oxygen)

100

What is a normal core body temperature?

What is 37°C

100

What is the motor nerve?

200

How does shock affect the body? Name 2

This isn't symptom's of shock

what is cells stop functioning

cells eventually die

enough cells die tissue die

tissue start to die organs will die

200

How many pair of ribs do humans have?

What is 12?

200

What are the two main components of blood?

What is blood and plasma

200

What are 4 mechanisms of heat loss?

What is Radiation, conduction, convection, and evaporation

200

What is hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia?

What is low and high blood sugar?

300

what are the 5 category's of shock?

Hypovolemic, Cardiogenic, Anaphlactic, Septic, Nerogenic

300

What are anatomical terms? and name 4

What is the term used to describe the location of physical findings.

Trunk, Supine, Prone, Erect, Anterior

300

What are the two systems in the circulatory system?

What is the pulmonary and systemic circulation

300

What is the difference between Heat exhaustion and Heatstroke?

Heat exhaustion is the depletion of both water and salt in the body. Heatstroke occurs when the body mechanisms for heat dissipation are overwhelm and fail.

300

What is FAST? and how would you test for each one?

Face (look at face)

Arms (have the cross their arms and squeeze your hands)

Speech (ask question)

Time (get them to a hospital)

400

What are the signs and symptoms of anaphylactic shock? Name 5

Generalized itching, numbness or tingling (face or mouth), hives, tightness in throat, wheezing (breathing) chest tightness, general weakness, diarrhea

400

Name the 3 major bones in the legs and the 3 major bone in the arm

what is femur, Fibula and tibia

what is Humerus, radius, and ulna

400

What is a pulse and what are all the location you can find a pulse?

what is the number of times the ventricles pump blood into the arteries per minute

Carotid, Radial, Femoral, Dorsalis, Posterior tibialis

400

What are the stages of hypothermia, and what are the body temps for each stage?

What is mild (35°-33°)

Moderate (32°-29°)

Severe (28°-9°)

Death

400

What are the different stages of triage? Name two different types of injury's for each stage?

Black/Expectant (unlikely to survive)

Red/Immediate (medical attention in min. up 60)

Yellow/Delayed (will not deteriorate for several hours)

Green/Minor

500

Is treating for shock important? Why or Why not?

Yes

500

Name the 3 bony plates in the skull

Frontal, Maxilla, Mandible, Parietal, Temporal, Occipital

500

What is the path of blood flow through the heart?

  1. Deoxygenated blood from the body flows to the heart via the superior vena cava and inferior vena cava.
  2. Right atrium
  3. Tricuspid valve
  4. Right ventricle
  5. Pulmonary arteries
  6. The lungs receive deoxygenated blood from the pulmonary arteries and return oxygenated blood to the heart via the pulmonary veins. Remember, arteries carry blood away from the heart, while veins return it to the heart. The blood flow to and from the heart is the only time when arteries carry deoxygenated blood and veins carry oxygenated blood.
  7. Pulmonary veins
  8. Left atrium
  9. Mitral valve
  10. Left ventricle
  11. Aortic valve
  12. The aorta carries oxygenated blood to major arteries that supply the body (and heart itself).
