It was Susie's birthday. She had asked for a pony but knew that her parents couldn't afford to buy her one. She was hoping that she would get at least a pair of boots. When she came home that evening it was dark and quiet at her house. Susie opened the door. Suddenly, her brother ran in the house from the back door and said, "Susie, come outside Mom needs you!" Susie followed her brother outside. She looked out back and was in shock, she froze in her steps with her mouth open. It appeared that she was speechless and couldn't move a muscle.
