Yes! Our feelings give us important information.
Name it to tame it: name a feeling that is more specific than mad, sad, scared or happy.
Joyful, jealous, lonely, nervous, ashamed, embarrassed, reflective, grouchy, annoyed, peaceful.....

Marshmallow
I might feel angry after someone says something rude. But if it only happens once, it's a mean moment. Not this ______, which happens over and over.
Bullying
When I use my inner voice to practice self-love, encouragement and understanding. It is the opposite of speaking to myself in a negative way.
Positive self-talk
V: These guide our choices & actions. We explored around 30 as we walked around the room and talked about different character qualities. Some examples are kindness, honesty, courage, generosity, community & fun.

Resilience
Failure feels bad. Explain why it isn't.
Failure helps us grow, we can practice resilience, it means we tried something new or hard, failure shows effort, we can't learn without failing.
Naming things that make us happy, writing letters to say thank you, and being content with what we have are all examples of this coping strategy
Gratitude
B: A line that divides two things or indicates the limit of something. We talked about this in terms of our friends
Boundaries
Remember when we compared our identity to an iceberg? Things like our appearance, name & race are visible to others. Name one of the 5 things about identity you CAN'T tell from looking at someone.

Thoughts
Focusing on the inside of this helps us to be more resilient. The things on the outside might give us big feelings, but it helps to just let it go.
