Summers in Death Valley are hot. During the summer months, the average temperature is about 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Daytime temperatures can skyrocket to 116 degrees, while nighttime temperatures are in the 80s. Death Valley is also the lowest place in North America. Most land on Earth is at or above sea level, which is the level of the ocean’s surface. Only a few places in the world have land that is below sea level. Death Valley is one of those places. One part of the valley, called Badwater Basin, sinks 282 feet below sea level.

George Washington was a great president. Washington's head can be found on a quarter and one dollar bill. There is also a tall stone structure in Washington, D.C. called the Washington Monument. With all of those things to remind us, there's no way we can forget about our first president.
