Why would you need to collect data before analyzing it?
If you don't have the data, it cannot be evaluated for what it represents. Collecting data must occur before analysis.

Quantitative data is data that is actually measured such as height, weight, distance etc.
What is a theory?
When a hypothesis is tested by many people and the results come out the same.
This is the variable that has an affect on the other.

The next person who performs the experiment must be able to duplicate it exactly so that the results can be compared.

Placing a piece of bread in a container will keep the cookies soft.

When looking for a cell phone, working on experiments in class, when trying to determine if providing a service in the community is needed, etc.
