What is Commercial?

A Commercial property depends on what type of meter the premise has. If the TDU classifies the meter as Commercial, it will have Commercial product plans and TDU fees.

What is always true about demand?

For Commercial and Industrial Customers consumption and demand vary greatly. Some need large amount of electricity once in a while; others almost constantly. a) This energy must be supplied and generated to each Customer instantly. b) Meeting these Customer’s needs requires keeping a vast array of expensive equipment (transformers, wires, substations and even generating stations on constant standby). c) The amount and size of this equipment must be large enough to meet peak consumption periods (when the need for electricity is highest/at its peak demand) 2. A company must have enough power available to meet its end-users’ maximum requirements to prevent brownout/blackouts. a) That means that if everyone was using their peak power performance, it would not “crash” the grid.
