Why do we have rules? Why are they important?
Students know what is expected of them and how to be a part of a positive classroom community.
When you need to go to the bathroom, ask a question, agree/ disagree, what should you do to let the teacher know?
Hand signals.
If you need a moment alone, where do you ask Ms. James to go?
Comfy chair or hallway.
When asked to turn and talk with your table groups, do you yell or argue?
No! You work together as a TEAM!
What grade did Ms. James teach last?
3rd.
Should you remind other students in the class of these class rules when you see them NOT following them?
Yes! But this can be done respectfully.
When we line up and transition outside or in the hallways, should we talk?
No! You should be on a level 0.

On the board at the front of the class.
What level should you be on when talking at your table teams?
Level 2
Does Ms. James make mistakes too?
YES!!!! All the time.
What happens if you do not follow the classroom rules?
Two warning and then a code on class dojo.
Do you always show respect to yourself, others, the teacher, and the classroom?
Yes! Any form of disrespect will be an automatic code.
What is all included in your tables bins and need to be accounted for at the end of every class?
2 pens, 1 highlighter, 4 glue sticks, 4 expo markers, and 4 whiteboard erasers.
Should you ask your table team members questions To better understand their thinking?
YES!!! Ask them to describe their thinking to you. This gives you the opportunity to learn from others.
Does Ms. James love all her students?
YES!!!
Why do we think these rules are important in our class?
Teacher determines responses.
Do you get up and walk around the class or sharpen your pencil when Ms. James is teaching?
No! You should come to class prepared with all your materials such as your pencils sharpened and your binder.
Where are extra supplies located?
On the back counter in the bins.
What do you do if you disagree with a table team member?
Be encouraging. No one is always right. You may want to say, “Good thinking, but I disagree with you because…”

No! Other students in the class may still be thinking. Simply raise your hand to let me know you have your answer.

The metal bin at the front of the class on top of the white shelves.
If me and my table team win for the week, what do we get?
If you and you table team win with the highest number of points for the week, you can choose an item from the treasure chest!
