How do you add decimals?
You line up the decimals and then add the numbers.
.6 x 2.1 =
1.26
5÷0.1=
50
How do you subtract decimals?
You line up the decimals and then subtract the numbers.
4.25 x 21 =
89.25
16÷0.5 =
32
What do you do if there are not enough digits in the top number to subtract a problem?
You have to add on zero's.
.98 + 2.67 =
3.65
.03 x .03 =
.0009
0.04÷2 =
0.02
How do you multiply decimals?
You push the decimal point all the way to the right and then bring it back the same amount of times when you get to the answer.
8×0.36=
2.88
2.4÷0.01 =
240
How do you divide whole number by decimals?
You have to get rid of the decimals from the divisor by multiplying either by 10, 100, 1000 etc. Then you have to multiply the divident the same amount of times
8.07 + .09 + 23.3 =
31.46
5.45 - 3.799 =
1.651
2.8×4.5=
12.6
