He defeated the Philistines; became Israel's second king; established capital at Jerusalem.
Who was David?
He was a prophet who angered a king and was thrown into a den of lions. His faith in God kept the lions from killing him, and he was released. Jews tell this story to show the power of faith.
Who was Daniel?
Jews consider it the holiest day of the entire year. Because it is so holy, Jews don’t eat or drink anything for the entire day.
What is Yom Kippur?
The Ashkenazim is made up of descendants of Jews who moved to France, Germany, and Eastern Europe during the Diaspora and developed their language which is similar to German.
What is Yiddish?
The religion of the Hebrews (practiced by Jews today); it is the world’s oldest monotheistic religion.
What is Judaism?
When the Israelites reached a mountain called Sinai, the Hebrew Bible says that God gave Moses two stone tablets. On the tablets was written a code of moral laws.

This King's Temple in Jerusalem became the center of worship and unity for the Israelites in about 965 BC.

This term for radical Jews who supported the rebellion against the Romans in AD 66 fought fiercely but lost.

Number of tribes of Israel formed by the Israelites.
