The Bible
This part of the Bible tells the story of Jesus's life.
What are the Gospels?
Jesus's representative on earth who makes sure the Church is accomplishing her mission.
Who is the Pope?
One of the Marks of the Church that means the Church is unified in faith and under the same Pope.
What is One?
An outward sign that gives us grace.
What is a Sacrament?
The part of the Mass where the priest shares teachings on the readings.
What is the homily?
This part of the Bible takes place before Jesus was born.
What is the Old Testament?
Men who are ordained to serve the Church and administer the Sacraments. Also the second degree of Holy Orders.
What are priests?
The teaching authority of the Church.
What is the Magisterium?
The Sacrament that adopts us as God's children and cleanses us from original sin.
What is Baptism?
The section of the Mass that the Prayers of the Faithful take place in.
What is the Liturgy of the Word?
This part of the Bible takes place after Jesus was born.
What is the New Testament?
Men who assist at mass. The first degree of Holy Orders. They can be married or unmarried.
What are deacons?
One of the Marks of the Church that means that the succession of the Church can be traced all the way back to the time of Jesus.
What is Apostolic?
The three Sacraments that leave a permanent mark on a person's soul.
What are Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Orders?
The section of the Mass that the Offertory takes place in.
What is the Liturgy of the Eucharist?
The Gospel writer who is represented by a symbol of a winged man.
Who is Matthew?
Those un-ordained people who serve the Church in the world.
What are the laity?
The word for a specific region with a community of Catholics in it.
What is a diocese?
Something a Sacrament has that means it it permanent and can only be received once.
What is indelible character?
A special prayer (usually sung) praising God that happens during the Introductory Rite. It is only done on Sundays and special feast days.
What is the Gloria?
The only non-synoptic Gospel
Ordained people chosen for a special job of electing a new Pope.
What are cardinals?
One of the marks of the Church which means universal or for everyone.
What is Catholic?
The Sacrament that ordains or sets someone apart for ministry in the Church.
What is Holy Orders?
A prayer we say during the Liturgy of the Word that is a statement of what we believe.
