Jesus was amazed by the kind of humbling faith the Roman officer had. He recognized Jesus as higher and greater than himself even when he himself was someone who was feared and respected by most. He asked for Jesus to heal one of his servants who was paralyzed and had a lot of pain but to do it from where he was because he did not see himself worthy enough to have Jesus set foot in his home.
