Gertrude was sent to the safe seat because she was talking to a friend when she was instructed to work on an assignment.  She is redirected by the teacher but continues to talk.  The teacher asked her to move to the safe seat but Gertrude explains that she was asking a question about the assignment. Is this the correct approach?  Should she have done something differently.

Gertrude took the wrong approach to the situation. When asked to move to the safe seat, Gertrude should have complied without arguing.  She could have a discussion with the teacher during processing.
