How could the development of the Bering Land Bridge during the Ice Age be considered a turning point in human history?

This development allowed for the first people to migrate to the Americas. This allowed for Native Americans to migrate throughout the Americas, develop different tribes, allowed for the development of civilizations, such as the Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs. Finally, without the Iroquois existing, who knows what our government would be like today.
