How could the development of the Bering Land Bridge during the Ice Age be considered a turning point in human history?

This development allowed for the first people to migrate to the Americas. This allowed for Native Americans to migrate throughout the Americas and create communities. Who knows if the Europeans who sailed to America later on would have been able to survive without Native Americans help. Also, without the Iroquois existing, who knows what our government would be like today.
