FALSE.

The SAAH section 3.3.8 state that " A homeless student or a student who is in foster care should be admitted temporarily for 30 days if acceptable evidence of vaccination is not available.

How long does a parent have to request a correction to the Home Language Survey?

10 Days for the date of enrollment.

Johnny lives with his mom.  However, his grandmother drops him off and picks him up from school everyday.  Grandmother asks for a copy of his last 2 report cards.  Can you give them to her? 

In this case, NO.  The student is living and in the custody of the mother.  The grandmother is just helping get the student to and from school. 

This falls under FERPA.

Johnny has been removed from his home by CPS. He has been placed with a family in a neighboring school district.  Does Johnny have to withdraw and attend the neighboring school district? 

NO. If a child is in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and placed in a residence outside of your district can continue to attend that school until he or she successfully completes the highest grade offered.

If a student is coded as being homeless when they enroll, but then later moves into a permanent housing, do we adjust the students homeless coding?

No, the student remains homeless coded until the end of the current school year.

You are in your office working and another employee of the district come in and starts talking. While there, they pick up a student's file and look through it.  Is this okay? 

It Depends.. If the employee has a "legitimate educational interest, then yes it is alright under the guidelines that the employee is a school official, contractor retained by the district, or an counselor.

NO.  SAAH states the TREx system must be used to transfer student records between public schools.

NO. NEVER, EVER, EVER!!!!

If you receive information that a record should be changed, go to the administrator in charge of the program and get it in writing that the change needs to be made. ALWAYS GET RECIEPTS!

NO.  Under no circumstances is it allowable for a student to have access to records of any kind except their own.

When a student withdraws, and you know that they are moving out of state, is it alright to go ahead and code the student with a withdrawal code other of "82"?

ONLY if you got a Homeschool/Out of State letter written and signed by the parent.  Otherwise code the student with a "98" until you have a records request or a proof of enrollment form in you hand.

If I find an error and the correction causes the six weeks reports to change, do I have no rerun them? For example, a student wasn't coded SPED and he should have been.

YES.  The reports need to be re-ran and signed by the principal and the special program designees.

If someone claiming to be a CPS investigator calls and asks if a student is in attendance today, can you tell them? 

YES, however, you must 1st obtain proof that the CPS investigator is who they say they are. A copy of their badge and the names of the student can be emailed to you for verification.

The Teacher is ultimately responsible for the transfer of grades.  But you also have the option to do so.

When a student is enrolling and the parent doesn't have the social security card or does have it but refuses to let us make a copy of the document, will this count against us in an audit? 

NO. It is the parent's right to refuse to hand over the social security document; however, it is the only document they may refuse.

A family comes to register and they live out of the Judson District and approved to attend your school, what ADA/Entry Code is used for this student? 

3- Eligible Transfer Student-Full , O- Out of District Entry.

You finish all of your reports and you take them to campus administrator or the person designated to be in charge of the certain program, is it ever okay for them to just sing them without looking at the information? 

YES and NO.  It is not okay for them not to review the information and just sign and go on because when they sign the report, they are agreeing that all information contained in the report is true and accurate; however, keep in mind it is their signature on the reports and any issues arise will fall on them.
