Author's Purpose

The author’s purpose for this piece of propaganda is to try and get people to buy war bonds to help out with the war effort. This is propaganda because it uses the method of exploitation to promote and try to get people to buy the product, which is the war bonds. This poster is considered propaganda because it exploits the people’s patriotism. By stating that their money can help keep American planes flying, people with money are convinced that by donating war bonds, they can actually help their country and do a good service. It also makes them feel good about themselves, as they believe that they actually contributed to winning the war. This feeling convinced them to buy the war bonds, which is what the people who created the propaganda wanted.
