WHO ARE: ACTORS, STAGEHANDS/CREW MEMBERS?
TRUE OR FALSE: A theatre production and all responsibilities should fall on the director.
FALSE! It takes a village to put on a theatre production, and one person cannot do it alone. Take it from Ms. Pearce!

AH GEEZ! Our lead actor for Goldilocks on Trial is home sick with the flu. THIS role is an actor who stands in for this character in case of emergencies or necessities such as this instance.
WHO IS THE UNDERSTUDY?
OH NO!! An audience member’s phone goes off loudly or someone is talking during a serious moment. Should actors react? If so, how?
Actors should stay in character and ignore it unless it becomes extreme (in which case a stage manager or house manager OR DIRECTOR may intervene).
What is the difference between yelling and a projected voice?
A projected voice is a sustained, resonant, and clear sound supported by the diaphragm, aiming for maximum reach without strain. Yelling (or shouting) relies on throat muscles, causing strain, hoarseness, and a flatter sound. Projection fills the room with energy, while yelling often splats the sound, damaging vocal cords over time.

WHAT IS WICKED?
IDEAS: Collaborate with crew/director for their vision & implementation, conduct research on the era & time period & location, design picture collages or an original creation based on the character/scheme.
OH NO!! A board operator or backstage crew member cannot hear the actors and don't know when to call their next cue. What can they do?
The operator should rely on backup systems instead of waiting for audio cues—this could include watching the stage for visual cue lines, following along in a marked script, or taking cues from a stage manager if one is calling cues over headset. If unsure, it’s often better to slightly delay than fire a completely wrong cue.

YOU ANSWER...
OH NO!! An actor’s costume piece (like a button, strap, or zipper) breaks right before they go on stage. They only have 30 seconds. What are their best options?
If quick, the actor or dresser fixes it immediately. If not, the actor adjusts (hold the costume, modify movement, or enter as-is while staying in character).

What is HERCULES?
What is MONEY? A producer mainly deals with getting fundraising, helping with the hiring process/firing process, budget, while a director mainly focuses on the visionary aspects and creation and collaboration pieces.
OH NO!! A chair or small set piece breaks during a scene while actors are using it. What should the actors do in character? What should backstage crew do?
Actors should safely adjust—stop using the piece, incorporate it into the scene if possible, or move away naturally without breaking character. Crew should remove it only if it can be done invisibly and safely.
