What is a book?
This is a mindful behavior that you show to others. It involves listening, and paying attention. You are showing others this type of behavior because it is part of how you were raised and it is what St. John the Evangelist school expects of you. It begins with the letter "R".
What is respect?
You walk into your homeroom class in the a.m. and find your seat, unpack, sit quietly, read, rest, prepare for the day.
What is the a.m. procedure?
When this procedure occurs in a fire drill, we line up quickly, quietly and exit the building in a quiet, orderly fashion.
What do we do in a fire drill?
If you bring it out at recess, you must return it on your way back in to school. If you use it, it is your responsibility to bring it back in with you. If it is broken or missing you need to tell the teacher on duty.
What is recess equipment?
This is a skill that is acquired through practice, reading and learning new words. Sometimes a computer will auto correct it but you will always need to learn how to do it on your own through sounding out words.
What is spelling?
This is something that you wear on your face at all times, when you are in a building, except when you are eating.

When you get home, you need to remember to do this to your Ipad so that it is fully charged for the next day.

Before you leave school, you need to clean out and wipe down your desk, pack your belongings, pick up your trash, read, rest, listen to announcements and pray. Then the bell rings and you leave the classroom. What is this time period called?

This is a procedure we follow in the event of severe weather. We may be asked to line up quietly and sit in the hallways away from windows.

The ELA class period always begins with this activity. It lasts for 15 minutes. During this time, the teachers may be conferencing with some students. You, on the other hand, are lost in the pages of a good book. What is this time period called?

Before you begin working on any desk or table that is not your own, and when you are finished, you should use a "wipe" to clean it to prevent the spread of germs. What is this procedure called?

If you need to speak to me, and you are at your seat, this is what you do, rather than shout out to get the teacher's attention.

When you are at Mass, your attention is given to God. During this time you sit quietly and talk to God through your inner voice and conscience. Sometimes you will clasp your hands together, bow your head and kneel. What is this known as?
