How were the “new” immigrants in the mid-1880’s- early 1900’s were different from most previous immigrants to the US.
The “new” immigrants to the US were often from non English speaking countries. They were poor and often uneducated. Many Americans did not welcome these “new” immigrants. Finally, these “new” immigrants often did not mix well into American communities, so they often formed or moved into areas with people from their home country.

The Korean War tested how far the U.S. was willing to go to stop the spread of communism. Answer the following questions about the Korean War.

It started when the communist North invaded the South attempting to reunite the country.
The South almost lost, then the UN (mainly the US) got involved, sent troops, regained the South and almost captured most of the North.
The outcome was a divided Korea, basically the same as before the war.
