Observation or interview Assesses how well the home environment is meeting the needs of the residents as a whole. Ratings in 24 areas provide a summary of the data and a structure for generating recommendations to enhance the qualities of the environment. The intent of this assessment tool is to not only assess the residential environment but also to determine the impact of the environment on the residents and to make recommendations to improve the quality of life for the residents and the work life of the staff.
