If someone is truly your best friend you should be able to tell them how you feel without them getting upset. If your friend gets upset or does not want to be your friend anymore then they are not a true friend.

False - Ignoring feelings only makes them grow more intense. Like a pressure valve, they will slowly seep out or explode in unintended and potentially harmful ways.
