Having a job on campus where your pay helps to pay for college.  Half of the pay comes from the federal government

What are A-G requirements?

A-G requirements are categories of subjects that must be completed in high school, with a minimum of a C grade, to be considered minimally eligible for admission to a four year college/university.

What is a major?

The primary or main subject students study at college or university.

What is an apprenticeship?

When you want to go into a trade but want to get hands on learning right away. A program which pays you to work in a trade while you go to school at night.

What is a Grant?

A type of aide based on economic need that doesn't have to be paid back (if you complete your schooling)

What is tuition?

Fees you need to pay to attend college, technical, or vocational school.  Post-secondary education is typically not free.

A type of aide based on merit or need that doesn't have to be paid back.  Can be from private organizations or from an institution (the school)

What is a Bachelor of Arts/Science degree?

A degree you earn after completing (your major) a four year college program.

What is a four college?

An institution where you can earn a Bachelors' degrees or graduate degrees.

What are loans?

A type of aide, like a car loan, with interest attached.  Loans come from the state and federal government or private banks.  Subsidized loans are the best.

What are residence halls or dormatories?

The military offers careers in almost any area that you would find outside of the military.

What is the FAFSA?

FAFSA- Federal Application for Student Aide.  No aide will be provided from the government or schools (institutional aide) unless the FAFSA is complete every year you are in post-secondary education.

What minimum grade is needed in all of the A-G classes to be minimally eligible for four year college admission?

No less than a C

Can you transfer from a community college to a four year college.

YES!!!  You can take your general education courses at the community college, then transfer to a four year college to complete your major courses for your Bachelor Arts/Science degree.
