DDT
What is Discrete Trial Training
Measurement
The process of applying quantitative labels to observed properties of events using a standard set rules
This strategy involves reinforcing successive approximations of a target behavior while extinguishing previous approximations
What is Behavior
What is: the activity of living organisms that is external or internal observable
Begins at 10 AM EVERY Tuesday
WHAT IS, WHERE IS, WHEN IS
STAFF MEETING
Three components of discrete trial training
What is the teacher Instruction
What is the child's response
What is consequence
These are ways in which we can prepare to collect data:
What is: Defining the target behavior, have materials ready, identify when/what you are observing, establish with other professionals.
Three types of chaining
forward training
backward chaining
total task presentation
The 4 functions of behavior
What is:
escape
attention seeking
seeking to access material
sensory simulations
Where are session notes completed
What is Lauris
Why is important not to repeat the SD without giving consequences?
a. the child will not respond consistently
b. we want the child to learn that every time we present an SD, that a response is expected
Examples of continuous measurement
Ellen will acknowledge if the example presented is correct :)
When is chaining used
What is: When wanting to combine two or more simple behaviors or responses into a more complex sequence
What data collection method do we use to measure behavior
What is: Frequency, rate, duration, inter response, latency
What has to be completed within 24HRS
What are: session notes
This is commonly referred to as "ABC"
What is:
Antecedent
Behavior
Consequence
These are examples of discontinuous data collection procedures
What are partial intervals, whole intervals, and momentary time sampling
How do you shape a behavior
What is: Reinforce successive approximations ( closer approximations) and extinguish ( stop reinforcing) previous approximations
Define difference between reinforcement vs punishment
What is:
Reinforcement- presentation of a reinforcing stimulus or a removal of an aversive stimulus resulting in an increased or maintained rate of the behavior in the future
Punishment- presentation of an aversive stimulus or removal of a positive reinforcer as a consequence for behavior that reduces the future rate of behavior
If you have an upcoming meeting for your client, who should be informed?
Who are: The Site Director & Supervisor
Importance of reinforcement in DTT?
What is; increases the likelihood of a desirable behavior
Permanent Product
what is recording to monitor the occurrence of problem behavior.
Turn taking/washing hands/making PB&j
What is: Environmental Shaping
Define difference between positive vs negative
What is: Positive- addition of a stimulus; negative- removal of a stimulus
If you have an upcoming meeting for your client, when should you inform them?
What is: IMMEDIATELY
