What is term for "First, Then"

Premack Principle

100

What is the term for behavior that has previously been reinforced that is no longer accessing reinforcement?

Extinction

DA wants sand, he says "sand." What kind of verbal operant is this?

Mand

100

Is this positive or negative / reinforcement or punishment?

You buy a rockin new pair of Yeezys. Your coworker tells you "I love those Yeezys!" The next day you decide to wear them again.

Positive Reinforcement

Who is our founding father of ABA? (hint: it is unfortunately not Reagan)

Skinner

Brent strongly dislikes putting on his Sketcher shoes. What is one antecedent strategy to use prior to giving the demand to put on his shoes?

*Choice-making opportunities- "do you want to go outside, play with shaving cream, or go to light room after we put on your shoes?"

*High probability sequence- clap hands->lots of verbal praise->imitation touch nose->lots of verbal praise->put on shoes->YAY BRENTY!!!!

*Prime- "in 10 minutes we are putting on your Sketchers," "we have to go inside after you throw the last ball," etc.

Kiley worked really hard! After working, she was playing on her phone. While playing, she pushed Reagan to move. What is the correct consequence & an appropriate replacement behavior to teach?

Remove the reinforcer, require a mand/compliance with demand(s) to earn it back. Teach a functionally equivalent replacement behavior.

Reagan removes the phone and presents a demand or requires Kiley to mand for the phone back. Reagan continues to sit next to Kiley. If Kiley pushes Reagan again, Reagan will prompt for Kiley to use her words "Move" (an appropriate replacement behavior).

You are walking outside with Julie and she screams "DOG!" What kind of verbal operant is this?

Tact

200

True or False?

You should always pair social praise with tangible reinforcers?

True

Reagan, Kiley, and Brent see data for putting on a shirt. The last data point was on September 6th. They don't get flustered at all by the fact that it hasn't been run in 3 months. True or False?

FALSEEEEEEEE

Please make sure you are collecting data on EVERY target on their session!

(we also can see who runs which trials everyday)

but we love yall so keep up the good work

What type of antecedent strategy does ZS use?

Visual Schedule

300

Alex is potty training. He voids in the toilet. 30 minutes later Haley tells him "Good job you went potty!" What is wrong with this scenario?

Reinforcement must occur immediately after the behavior in order to be most effective in the future.

300

Tori asks Elizabeth "How is your day going?" Elizabeth responds, "It's super duper!" What kind of verbal operant is this?

Intraverbal

300

Is this positive or negative / reinforcement or punishment?

Britnee come home and the trash is overflowing and stinks. Britnee ties up the bag and takes it to the outside garbage can. Now in the future when her trash is almost full, she ties it up and takes it outside.

Negative Reinforcement

Explain Ratio Strain & provide an example

When the schedule of reinforcement is thinned (too many demands) and the ratio of correct responses is too large (inconsistent, challenging behavior occurs) for that particular reinforcement.

Ex: LL is working for ipad. You place 5 demands and he hits you. You then wait until offset of behavior to place more demands. The next time you work with LL and he is working for ipad. How many demands should you place this time? (Less than 5).

If your client is mouthing numerous toys throughout the day, at various times (during free play, after demands, etc.) what is the best antecedent strategy to use?

Non-contingent Reinforcement- providing access to stimuli with known reinforcing properties (a chewy) delivered on a fixed time or variable time schedule independent of the learner's behavior (mouthing)

400

Kathryn is playing with a block. Rieley tells her, "give me the block." Kathryn looks Rieley in the eyes and then proceeds to throw the block. What is the appropriate consequence?

Rieley remains neutral, does not go to pick up the block, and continues to keep her demand "give me the block."

Identify the verbal operant(s)

As a result of hearing "color" one has the tendency to say "red"

Intraverbal/Tact

IV- What's your favorite color? "Red"

Tact- What color is this? "Red"

400

A Multiple Stimulus Without Replacement preference assessment was conducted. Debra picked play-doh, trains, and then cars. Which item should you use contingent upon the non-preferred activity of washing hands?

Play-doh

Name 2 of our core values

1. Our playing field is level for all

2. We welcome why and why not?

3. We are judicious, not judgmental

4. We are compassionate and passionate

5. We embrace the rules, not the status quo

6. We are puzzle solvers on a mission

500

"WOOK AT ALL THA WIGHTS!!!"

Z uses this type of antecedent strategy throughout the day.. What is it?

Visual Schedule:

Work...

Work...

ZURICS CHOICE!!!! (Wight Woom)

Identify what piece(s) is/are wrong with this scenario & correct it:

Your client is playing in the NET room. They begin mouthing a piece of the puzzle. You say "Don't put that in your mouth." The client continues playing and within seconds puts it back in their mouth. You say, "We're going to be all done if you continue putting that in your mouth." The client continues playing and then proceeds to put his friends toy in his mouth. You tell him, "We're all done" and take away the puzzle. The client immediately starts engaging in disruptive vocalizations and elopes.

1. Do not address the inappropriate behavior (i.e. mouthing)

2. Provide differential reinforcement of appropriately playing with the toy (i.e. when it not in his mouth)

3. Teach/prompt other ways to play with the item (i.e. "Look,  the puzzle is flying! You try!")

4. Provide other activities to play that may not evoke mouthing behavior (going outside) and for choice-making opportunities prior to removing the toy

Give an example of a tact of a smell

"Someone is smoking"

What is the difference between a preference assessment and a reinforcer assessment?

A preference assessment identifies the stimuli a person prefers, the preference values of those stimuli (high vs low), and the conditions under which those preference values change with certain tasks, demands, etc.

A reinforcer assessment identifies the degree to which a stimulus will increase the target behavior in the future

EX: A child has chicken nuggets, cheese itz, and yogurt. Prior to eating, he picks chicken nuggets first. This was the most preferred item in the lunch. After eating, you go to work at the table. You remember he loves chicken nuggets. You use this as a reinforcer for work. He is not working hard for this item. Why? -> although it might be a preferred item, he has already eaten lunch and is no longer hungry, AKA- his MO for this item is weakened so it would not be a highly preferred reinforcer for working.

If you do work PRIOR to eating, chicken nuggets may be reinforcing under this condition of working BECAUSE he has not eaten yet :)
