Who was the first client at LPNG?
ELKU
Name the 4 functions of bx and describe them
Attention, escape, tangible/access, sensory/automatic
Name 4 schedules of reinforcement
Fixed Ratio
Variable Ratio
Fixed Interval
Variable Interval
What are the RBT supervision requirements per month
5% of billable services
Positive VS. Negative Reinforcement
Positive- Adding stimuli to the environment to increases the likelihood of it happening again
Negative- Removing stimuli from the environment to increase the likelihood of it happening again
What are the LPNG core values?
Community, Innovation, Compassion & Kindness, Empowerment
Name any 3 verbal operants & give their definitions
Mand, tact, echoic, intraverbal, listener responding, imitation
Partial Interval vs Whole Interval
Partial- Recording whether the bx occurred AT ANY POINT during the interval
Whole- Record whether the bx occurred during the ENTIRE set interval
What is a dual relationship
when a therapist/supervisor has more than one type of relationship with a client, stakeholder, or closely associated person.
EX: being both a therapist and a friend, family member, or business associate
SD vs. S-Delta
SD: signals reinforcement is available
S-Delta: signals that reinforcement is NOT available
LPNG Motto
Joyfully serving children, families, and one another.
Satiation vs Deprivation
Satiation occurs when client is given access to item/activity for extended periods of time- in turn decreasing the motivation for this stimuli
Deprivation occurs when client is without the item/activity for an extended period of time- which in turn increases the motivation for this stimuli
What is IOA
Interobserver Agreement - the extent to which two independent observers' data are the same after having directly observed the same behavior at the same time
Give an example of an RBT practicing outside their scope of competence
a) Therapist not utilizing visual aid bc "they don't need it anymore"
b) Therapists applying general ABA principles to a client with an eating disorder
c) Therapist adding extra prompts without BCBA approval/permission
d) Therapist not following BIP during maladaptive bx
Premack Principle
Using high-probability bx to reinforce a low-probability bx
(First, Then)
EX: first potty, then gym
Recite the three steps of service
1. A warm and sincere greeting
2. Deliver compassionate individualized care
3. A fond farewell
What is a behavior trap & provide an example
When naturally occurring events reinforce a bx
ex. Child tantrums in the store for a candy bar, parents give in to finish shopping
Name the measurement systems used in Continuous vs. Discontinuous data
Continuous- Duration, Latency, Frequency, IRT
Discontinuous- Whole Interval, Partial Interval, Momentary Time Sampling
You are at the store, and a client notices you so they come say "hello"- What should you do?
This is ethical bc the client approached you first
Bribery vs. Reinforcement
Bribery reinforces the maladaptive bx and Reinforcement is used to reward appropriate bx
How many service values do we have? And recite one of them.
11
What should ALWAYS be paired with an extinction procedure
differential reinforcement procedures
(DRO, DRA, DRI)
IRT vs Latency
Latency: the elapsed time between the onset of a stimulus & a subsequent response. The total amount of time from the moment the SD was given, until the response is emitted.
Inter-Response Time: A measure of the amount of time between two consecutive instances of bx; ending of one bx til the beginning of the next.
Assent VS. Consent
Assent- The expression of approval or agreement by someone not legally able to give consent. Assent can be given vocally/verbally, can be given in contract form, or through behavior cues. Assent can be revoked at any time, and focuses on the individual's active participation and comfort.
Consent- is often provided by caregivers for minors or individuals with disabilities. Consent can be a written or verbal agreement by someone of legal age (18), or by a legal guardian to participate in any given activity.
MO's, EO's & AO's
MO- an environmental event that temporarily alters the effectiveness of a consequence as a reinforcer and influences the frequency of behavior.
EO- a type of motivating operation that increases the effectiveness of a stimulus as a reinforcer.
AO- a type of motivating operation that decreases the effectiveness of a stimulus as a reinforcer.
