That portion of an organism's interaction with its environment that involves movement of some part of the organism
Behavior
The process of applying quantitative labels to describe and differentiate objects and natural events.
Measurement
These are interventions that are to be implemented before a behavior occurs as a means to reduce the future occurrence of a maladaptive behavior.
Antecedent Strategies
My Client Canceled!
Notify: CSS, BA, and OM
At the end of a designated interval, the observer records whether the target behavior occurred throughout the entire interval
Whole Interval Recording
A form of direct, continuous observation in which the observer records a descriptive, temporally sequenced account of all behavior(s) of interest and the antecedent conditions and consequences for those behaviors as those events occur in the client's natural environment.
ABC Recording or Anecdotal Recording
The recording of every instance of a target behavior during a specific observation period. Including frequency, duration, latency, rate, and interresponse time.
Continuous Measurement
These are interventions utilized to help reduce maladaptive behavior intensity, duration, and occurrence after the maladaptive behavior has begun
Consequence strategies
My Tablet is kicking me out of Central Reach!
Send in a Help Desk Ticket and inform BA that data may be missing or inaccurate.
Procedures used to identify items or activities that a client finds motivating and enjoyable, which can then be used as reinforcers to encourage desired behaviors. This help therapists determine what will motivate a client, allowing for more effective treatment plans and increased engagement in therapy
Preference Assessment
A contingency in which the occurrence of a response is followed immediately by the termination, reduction, postponement, or avoidance of a stimulus, and which leads to an increase in the future occurrence of similar responses.
Negative Reinforcement
Data collection methods that do not capture every instance of a behavior. Including whole interval, partial interval, and momentary time sampling.
Discontinuous Measurement
These are behaviors and skills we actively teach to a client as a means to functionally replace maladaptive behaviors.
Functionally Equivalent Replacement Behaviors (FERBs)
My Client missed the potty, and now there is a puddle.
Wipe up what you can. Then call for a Center Asistant to support in final sterilization
A measurement method in which the presence or absence of behaviors is recorded at precisely specified time intervals
Momentary Time Sampling
The physical form or shape of a behavior.
Topography
The observer records whether the target behavior occurred at any time during the interval
Partial-Interval Recording
This determines when a behavior starts and ends
Onset and Offset
I read the target description, but I still do not know how to run this target!

environmental events that alter the effectiveness of a consequence and influence the frequency of behaviors that lead to that consequence. These environmental events make individuals want something more or less, thereby impacting their motivation to engage in specific behaviors.
Motivating Operations
A basic principle of behavior describing a responseconsequence functional relation in which a response is followed immediately by a stimulus change that results in similar responses occurring more often.
Reinforcement
A fundamental measure of how often behavior occurs expressed as count per standard unit of time (e.g., per minute, per hour, per day) and calculated by dividing the number of responses recorded by the number of standard units of time in which observations were conducted.
Rate
A clear, concise, and measurable description of a behavior. It outlines what the behavior looks like, making it observable and allowing for consistent data collection
Operational Definition
I have to modify my hours of availbility, I need to request off a case, I have open time on my schedule and want to help another client, and/or I have work related concerns.

An interrelated community of contingencies of reinforcement that can be especially powerful, producing substantial and long-lasting behavior changes. Effective of this phenomena share four essential features: (a) They are "baited" with virtually irresistible reinforcers that " lure" the learner to the trap; (b) only a low-effort response already in the learner's repertoire is necessary to enter the trap; (c) once inside the trap, interrelated contingencies of reinforcement motivate the learner to acquire, extend, and maintain targeted academic and/or social skills; and (d) they can remain effective for a long time because students show few, if any, satiation effects. This phenomena can be beneficial AND detrimental to the learner.
