This disorder occurs when at least five signs last two or more weeks. Some of the signs may be: feeling worthless, recurrent thoughts of death and suicide, diminished interest or pleasure in activities most of the day.
What is major depressive disorder?
A set of symptoms associated with discontinuing a drug. Cravings, tremors, anxiety, depression, seizures, and even death.
What is withdrawl?
Slows neural processing and thinking. Reduces self-awareness and impairs memory. Reduces activity in the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for controlling inhibitions and making judgments.
What is alcohol?
Bouncing from one emotional extreme to another. Manic and depressive episodes.
What is bipolar disorder?
An eating disorder in which a person maintains a starvation diet
What is anorexia nervosa?
The state of being dependent on a substance.
What is addiction?
When smoked, this lowers inhibitions and produces feelings of relaxation and mild euphoria. Chronic use disrupts memory function, lowers attention, and impairs learning ability, and lung damage.
Marijuana
Characterized by haunting memories, nightmares, social withdrawal, jumpy anxiety, numbness of feeling, and/or insomnia that lingers for four weeks or more after a traumatic experience.
What is post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)?
A disorder in which a person exhibits a lack of conscience for wrongdoing.
What is antisocial personality disorder?
The disorder in which a person is continually tense, apprehensive, and in a state of automatic nervous system arousal
What is generalized anxiety disorder?
Treatment for dependency of a substance.
a super stimulant used as a recreational drug. Is not perscribed medically. Fast acting, potent, and dangerous. Increased body heat, blood pressure, supresses immune sytem, impairs memory, and may result in death.
What is methamphetamine?

What is schizophrenia?
A disorder in which a person exhibits two or more alternating and distinct personalities.
What is dissociative identity disorder (DID)?
A disorder characterized by unwanted repetitive thoughts, actions, or both
What is obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)?
An excessive and dangerous amount of a drug.
What is an overdose?
Drugs that cause hallucinations and distort perceptions of realty.
What is hallucinogens/psychedelics?
An anxiety disorder marked by a persistent, irrational fear and avoidance of a specific object, activity, or situation.
What is a phobia?
unwanted thoughts, ideas, or mental images that occur over and over again
What is an obsession?
A disorder in which a person loses contact with reality, experiencing irrational ideas and distorted perceptions.
What is psychosis?
The most common substance use disorder in America.
What is alcohol?
These drugs reduce neurotransmitter and temporarily lessen pain and anxiety. Brain releases more dopamine and creates a euphoric feeling. Heroine is in this category of drugs.
What is opiates?
An anxiety disorder marked by unpredictable, minutes-long episodes of intense dread in which a person experiences terror and accompanying chest pain.
What is panic disorder?
social interactions cause irrational fear, self-consciousness, and embarrassment.
