Residents line up outside of the cafeteria following transportation expectations.

Staff will call 5 residents into the cafeteria at a time to approach the serving line. 



Residents are required to remain silent while in line and are permitted to talk once they are seated at their table. 

Residents should obtain all food items prior to being seated. 

Be polite and courteous to dining staff by saying, “Please” and “Thank you.”

Residents will walk around the outside of the tables at all times.

Once all residents have been seated, only one resident is permitted to be out of their seat at a time.

Residents must sit at their assigned seats. Staff members will reassign resident seating arrangements if deemed necessary

Residents are not permitted to sit directly across from each other.  Residents will be provided direction from staff for permission to speak at their assigned table once all residents are seated.  

If a resident needs assistance from a kitchen employee, he/she is expected to communicate their issue to the unit staff. 

Quiet conversation is limited to the people at your table. No talking to residents at other tables.

Resident will raise their hand if they need something or if requesting to get out of their seat for any reason, including getting a drink or condiments.  Staff will call “one up” indicating one resident is out of their seat. 

Sharing food is not permitted. 

At the end of the meal, once “trays up” is called residents will not be permitted to talk.

Staff will dismiss resident tables to allow residents to dispose of trash. The spork must be presented to a staff member for disposal in the designated trash container.

Residents are required to wipe down their table and ensure the cafeteria is neat and orderly. A resident will be appointed by staff.

No food or drinks should be taken from the dining area except for the bin filled with evening snack/fruit. Residents are not permitted to carry the snack bin back to their respective unit, or pass out food to other residents.

Shirts must be tucked in. Top button unbuttoned on polo shirts.

A tee-shirt must be worn under your polo shirt.

Pants pulled up to waistline, no hands in your pants.

No sweatpants are permitted under school uniform. Shorts must be worn under uniform pants on gym days only (M, W, and F).

Residents who are practicing the Muslim faith are permitted to have 1 cuff in the pants. 

All residents are required to wear sneakers when participating in gym.

Sweatshirts must be worn if brought to school; no tying around neck, waist or carrying in arms
