Labeling
The belief that things should be a certain way, which can result in a person feeling guilty or like they failed.
“Should” Statements
Recognizing only the negative aspects of a situation while ignoring the positive.
Disqualifying the Positive
Thinking in rigid absolutes, such as “always”, “never”, or “every”
All or Nothing Thinking, or Black and White Thinking
Seeing a pattern based upon a single event, or being overly broad in the conclusions we draw.

The assumption that emotions reflect the way things really are.

Exaggerating the importance of events or blowing things out of proportion

Minimizing the importance of events.

Blaming yourself or taking responsibility for something that was not completely your fault.

Coming to a conclusion about a situation with little or no evidence.

Seeing only the worst possible outcomes of a situation.
