The code asks us to be THESE at the individual, group, institutional, and societal levels to address potential barriers and obstacles to counseling.
What are advocates?
If a counselor believes they will not be fair and impartial when seeing multiple people who have a relationship, they can do WHAT?
What is decline to counsel those parties.
THIS is the best time to determine if a client is appropriate for a group.

If a therapist decides to extend a boundary, they must do THIS action prior to the interaction, the rationale for the interaction, the potential benefits, and anticipated consequences for the client and other individuals involved with the client.

Counselors should avoid a personal relationship with clients including through THESE modern means.
What is social media?
If the professional role with a client changes, the counselor must obtain informed consent and explain the client’s right to do THIS.
What is refuse services?
Counselors may clarify, adjust, or withdraw from the relationships if they believe they will have THIS.
What is conflict?
Including the wrong group member who then jeopardizes someone’s well-being would be a negative effect on THEM.
Who is a group member?
These include: the therapeutic relationship, the monetary value, the culture, the client’s motivation, and the counselor’s motivation around giving and receiving gifts.
