Visual (Optic) Learner
If you are a visual learner, you learn by reading or seeing pictures. You understand and remember things by sight. You can picture what you are learning in your head, and you learn best by using methods that are primarily visual. You like to see what you are learning.
What are the 3 kinds of logic?
Logos (Logic) - Goes with consistency and inductive- reasoning
Ethos (Ethics) - How does the author present themselves? Is the writer trustworthy? Authority? Experienced? Knowledgeable? Reasonable? Understanding? Ethics vary by culture/ surroundings. Lots of gray area.
Pathos (Emotions) How the argument affects the emotional state of the reader. Appeal to emotion. If emotion overrides logic = non valid. Logic = emotion = valid.

What is the difference between a movie and a film?

Is everything we see on social media real, genuine, and authentic?
No. Chances are that the posts you see on social media are fabricated, photoshopped, and created to look as perfect a possible. These posts also only show the best parts of peoples lives, giving off the impression that nothing bad ever happens to them.
Tactile (Kinesthetic) Learner
If you are a tactile learner, you learn by touching and doing. You understand and remember things through physical movement. You are a "hands-on" learner who prefers to touch, move, build, or draw what you learn, and you tend to learn better when some type of physical activity is involved. You need to be active and take frequent breaks, you often speak with your hands and with gestures, and you may have difficulty sitting still.
Why is Critical Thinking Important when reading?
Critical thinking allows us to monitor our understanding as we read. If we sense that assertions are ridiculous or irresponsible (critical thinking), we examine the text more closely to test our understanding (critical reading). To recognize and understand those views, we must read critically.

Auditory (Aural) Learner
If you are an auditory learner, you learn by hearing and listening. You understand and remember things you have heard. You store information by the way it sounds, and you have an easier time understanding spoken instructions than written ones. You often learn by reading out loud because you have to hear it or speak it in order to know it.

Social media has actually been found to have positive effects on both teens and students. When surveyed on how their social media usage affected their everyday lives, students claimed that it gave them more self-confidence, improved their relationships, and even made them more socially conscious.
Is it possible to be strong or weak in more than one of these learning styles?
Yes! More often than not, we are a combination of these learning styles. It is important to recognize how we learn and our strengths and weaknesses in order to become better learners.
