What is the Cadet Oath?
I pledge that I will serve faithfully in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program and that I will attend meetings regularly participate actively in unit activities obey my officers wear my uniform properly and advance my education and training rapidly to prepare myself to be of service to my community, state, and nation.

Blue nametag (females) is centered on right breast, even with or up to 1 1⁄2 inches higher or lower than the first exposed button, parallel to the ground.
Blue nametag (males) rests on but not over the right breast pocket, centered.

It is named after General Henry "Hap" Arnold. He was named as the first General of the Air Force.

Where does the CAP tape rest on the ABUs?
Cloth CAP tape rests on but not over the left breast pocket of the ABUs. Do not cut the excess fabric but fold it under to prevent fraying.
What is the CAP motto? And what does it mean?
The motto for Civil Air Patrol is "Semper Vigilans," which is Latin for "Always Vigilant"
Definition of Military Discipline?
Military discipline is that mental attitude and state of training which renders obedience instinctive under all conditions. It is founded upon respect for, and loyalty to, properly constituted authority.

What is the Value of Drill and Ceremonies?
On the drill field, the individual learns to participate as a member of a team, to appreciate the need for discipline; that is, to respond to authority, to follow orders promptly, and precisely, and to recognize the effects of their actions on the group as a whole. Learning to follow is the beginning of leadership.
