  • Verify their information.
  • Check the photo status.
  • Check the registration.
  • Verify they are logged in to their web account.

Blank window pops up

  • Have them switch their browser to Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
  • Make sure they navigated to our website by entering the address into the address bar rather than searching through a search engine.
  • Suggest they try a different computer.

Admission ticket page not launching

  • Go through the same steps as for blank window pops up.
  • Make sure they don't have a pop-up blocker, as the admission ticket page is a pop-up.

TDC over the phone?

TCC over the phone?

TDC and TCC over the phone?

TDC - $30 plus phone fee ($45.00)

TCC - $32.00 (there is no additional fee for making this change over the phone)

Students can make a test center change from one test center to another for the same test date (if they also want to change the date, they should do a test date change instead). $45.00

What should students not have while taking the test?

Hint: There are multiple answers to this question.

  • Highlighters, colored pens or pencils, or correction fluid/tape.
  • Any electronic device other than their permitted calculator.
  • This includes mobile phones, as a student's test will be voided if their phone goes off during the test, or insulin pumps (which would require Accommodations).
  • Books, dictionaries, or reading materials.
  • Food or beverages, including water (students will have a break outside the test room).
  • Tobacco of any form.
  • Scratch paper, notes, or other aides.

Explain how students may receive their admission tickets and what this process might look like.

Hint: What does Knowledge HUB say?

Registering Online

If a student registers online, they will need to print their own admission ticket from their web account.  If a student registers by phone or paper, the admission ticket will be mailed to the street address listed on their account, as long as it isn't generated from the web account within 24 hours.  Students can print as many copies of their ticket as they want up until the day of the test through their web account.

Registering by phone or paper registration packet

Students who registered by phone or paper will receive a copy of their admission ticket in the mail.  Students who need a duplicate copy of their admission ticket can request another one be sent up until the Tuesday before the test. This is done by pressing the Dup AT button in Oracle after drilling down into the test date from within the student summary.  Duplicated admission tickets usually take 7-10 business days to arrive, but if the test date is closer than that, the system will automatically send an expedited ticket, which should take 2-3 business days. These students can also create a web account and print their admission ticket (be sure they have their ACT ID, so as not to create a second account).

Why do students miss the test?

What happens to their registration?

What is the deadline and what will they need to do after that deadline?

Students may miss the test for any number of reasons - illness, a conflicting school event, forgetting their photo ID or admission ticket, not feeling prepared, etc.

When a student misses their test, their missed registration stays open, and they can make a test date change to a future test date.

Students with test dates prior to September 1, 2009 will no longer be able to make TDCs from these records, as they have been purged from Oracle.  These students will need to do a re-registration instead of a TDC.

400

If a student is dismissed from a test due to "prohibited behavior," what are those behaviors?

What will happen with their test?

Hint: What does Knowledge Hub say?

  • Filling in or altering responses on your answer sheet or continuing to complete the essay after time has been called on that test section.  Examinees cannot make any changes to a test section outside of the designated time for that section, even to fix a stray mark.
  • Looking back at a test section on which time has already been called.
  • Looking ahead in the test booklet.
  • Looking at another person's test booklet or answer document.
  • Giving or receiving assistance by any means.
  • Discussing or sharing of test content, test form identification numbers, or answers during test administration, during breaks, after the test, or on social media.
  • Using a prohibited calculator.
  • Using a calculator on any test section other than Math.
  • Sharing a calculator with another person.
  • Using a watch with recording, internet, or communication capabilities (e.g., a smart watch or fitness band).
  • Accessing any electronic device other than an approved calculator or watch.  All other electronic devices, including cell phones and wearable devices, must be powered off and stored out of sight from the time the examinee is admitted to test until you leave the test center.
  • Attempting to photograph, copy, or memorize test-related information or otherwise remove test materials, including questions or answers, from the test room in any way, including social media.
  • Using scratch paper.***
  • Not following instructions or abiding by the rules of the test center.
  • Exhibiting confrontational, threatening, or unruly behavior, or violating any laws.  If ACT suspects that examinees are engaging in criminal activities, they will be reported to law enforcement.
  • Allowing an alarm to sound in the test room or creating any other disturbance.

Examinees who are dismissed due to prohibited behavior forfeit their registration for that test date, and there are no options for refunds or appeals.

When can we "expedite" and admission ticket?

What is the process for sending the ticket?

Can I send it to a student that does not have a web account?

Does it expire?

Expedited emergency tickets are available only during the week of the test.

These can be sent in Oracle by drilling down into the test date master from the student summary and clicking the Email AT button.

This will send an email to the student with a link to a temporary PDF with their ticket.  Be sure to press this button only once, or duplicate emails will be sent.  A note should be generated in Oracle that this email was sent.

Expedited admission ticket links can also be emailed to student's who do not have a web account. All we would need to do is verify they have an email address on file and then the Email AT button will work.

The emailed admission ticket link does expire, just like a temporary password. If we email them a ticket today they should have access to the link for 2 weeks, after that we would need to send them a new emailed AT link. This is generally not an issue as we have a policy that we should only be emailing ATs the week of the test, but could be an issue for student's who have been reschedule, or for one who we have made an exception and emailed early. Another way that an emailed AT link will expire is if the button is pushed more than once, also like a temporary password. If the Email AT button is pushed twice the first link will immediately expire and the student must use the second link

The ACT test is non-refundable. What circumstances can I refund the ACT Test?

  • Two registrations done on the same day in error, as long as it's before the date of the first test.
  • 2 in 1 registration (two registrations for the same test date on different accounts for the same student)
    • If there are differences between the two registrations, (e.g., test option, test center, payment method), submit the 2 in 1 B2C Escalation Case. If everything is the same on both registrations, it will resolved automatically when the accounts are merged.
  • Requested to cancel within one business day of creating registration.
  • Original test date was rescheduled and they cannot attend the new date and are unable/unwilling to do a Test Date Change. You can Remove/Refund as a one-time courtesy.
  • Standby request that is no longer wanted
    • This can be done until the bio correction deadline. After that, they must wait 6-8 weeks for the auto refund if they do not test.
    • If a standby request is canceled Monday or Tuesday of test week, it cannot be reinstated.
  • Special Test or Extended Time (not approved, too late to submit docs, etc). You can check to see if the TAA email was sent in order to know if it was originally an Extended Time request.
    • If the examinee's accommodations are approved, their registration fee is nonrefundable.
    • If the examinee is approved for Special Testing but do not test, they should create a new registration for another Special Testing window and we will refund the original registration when the unused test materials are returned and the student requests the refund by August 31st. Submit these requests as Special Accommodations Refund B2C Escalation Cases.
  • Special Testing not approved and the student will neither apply for reconsideration or test again. Submit these requests as Special Accommodations Refund B2C Escalation Cases.
  • If a Test Center Change/Test Date Change at no fee does not satisfy a student's needs related to accommodations resolution or a TC closure, and they are requesting a refund, then you may offer them a refund up to the day of the test.
  • Death of a student

There are conflicting answers in Knowledge HUB, but why do we want to stress the importance of printing an Admission Ticket?

A paper copy of the admission ticket is no longer required to test, but is highly recommended, as it contains the student's match information.

Missing or incorrect match information may delay the student's scores for several weeks.

Admission tickets are NOT required to be printed in color.

Students will not be able to access their admission tickets until they have completed their registration and uploaded a photo to their account.
