Biathlon in Air Cadets is a program that combines cross-country or running with precision marksmanship. It's a sport that challenges cadets to balance physical fitness and focus, as they do a certain movement activity of run and then shoot at targets, allowing cadets to try something new which they may not be able to at school or outside of the air cadets program.

Air Cadets participate in a variety of special events, including fundraising activities, community service projects, and competitions, as well as activities focused on aviation, adventure training, and sports. These events can include activities like flag placement ceremonies, promotional ceremonies , commanding officers parades, participation in local fairs, orientation nights, and many more.

Explain what marksmanship is in Air Cadets.

In Air Cadets, marksmanship training teaches cadets how to safely handle and fire air rifles for recreational purposes and competitive shooting. It focuses on developing accuracy, precision, and safety skills through Olympic-style competitions and progression through different shooting positions and techniques, something that is taught and learnt outside of regular Tuesday night training.

Having an overview of the training opportunities available in level one prepares new cadets for the training year. They will be able to see how training fits together and identify areas of interest. This also builds up and applies to future levels, experiences and opportunities offered at Air Cadets.

Having a good knowledge and idea of what you are going to be learning and activities you will be participating in year one is truly essential for a deep understanding and for an honestly productive first training year overall at 364 Lancaster Air Cadets Squadron
