Putting a child down for a nap or bedtime with this places a child at risk for AOM

AAP Clinical Practice Guideline Diagnosis and Management of AOM requires the prescence of the following 3 components
What is acute onset of symptoms, presence of MEE, signs of acute middle ear inflammation
Reserve intramuscular or intravenous antibiotics for these situations
What is treatment failure or a serious comorbid bacterial infection is suspected
