What is purpose of the planning room?

This is a place for a student to process the behavior with a staff member in order to make a plan to return to class.

What happens when I am tardy? What is the consequence?

When a student is tardy- 1 pass will be removed (crossed out) from the student’s planner by the teacher in a permanent writing utensil.

Before coming to the planning room, what steps must be completed by the teacher and student?

Teacher: must give three strikes or reminders about the behavior.

Student: must correct their behavior before or during the three strikes. If the student does not correct the behavior, the student will be given a pink sheet to be completed in the hall and return to class by correcting the behavior.

What happens when you receive 4 or more tardies (combined)?

Consequences could include pass restrictions, morning detention, lunch detention, moving lockers, and admin discretion. 

The answer is 30 minute after school detention.

What is the school district's cell phone policy?

Students are prohibited from using cell phones and other electronic communication devices during the instructional day unless given permission by an adult. Students also are prohibited from using a cell phone or other electronic communication device to engage in conduct prohibited by school district policies including, but not limited to, cheating, bullying, harassment, and gang activity.

How is your table dismissed after you are done eating lunch?

All students raise their hands and wait to be dismissed. The table must be clear and underneath the table must be cleaned.

What is the definition of bullying?

ISD 728 strives to provide safe, secure, and respectful learning environments for all students in school buildings, on school grounds, on school buses, and at school-sponsored activities. Bullying is conduct that interferes with a student’s ability to learn and a teacher’s ability to educate. The Bullying Prohibition policy protects students against bullying and retaliation by other students.

What is the district policy about buses and riding home with another student?

Students cannot ride other students’ buses unless there is a family emergency. Parents are responsible for making these arrangements before school with Vision Bus Co. at (763) 441-4420.

Principals (or School Staff) are not allowed to permit students to ride buses other than their assigned Buses.

What happens if I am missing from class for more the 10 minutes.

This is an unexcused absence.

When a middle school student accumulates seven full or partial days of unexcused absences, it is considered habitual truancy, and the school will file truancy with county social services and/or court system.

What happens if I have my cell phone on my person during the school day aside from at lunch?

Staff see phones, phones should be confiscated and sent to the office by an adult (includes phones in pockets and binders). Label the phone with a post it note that includes the student name. Also identify if they were taking a photo or video.

Any apparel that is sexually suggestive, promotes alcohol, drug use, violence, or is vulgar is not allowed. 

● Historically offensive symbols such as swastikas, confederate flags, etc. are not allowed on school property. 

● Shoes with soles must be worn at all times. 

● Dress appropriately for physical education including tennis shoes

List 3 important rules about chromebooks?

District 728 has a written policy regarding student use of the internet in school. The internet may be used in school for education and research only. All students will be given permission to have internet access, unless a parent requests in writing to deny such. Access is a privilege, not a right. Inappropriate use of the Internet will result in disciplinary measures according to the district guidelines and may include loss of internet privileges.

You are here to get an education. Thus, you need to be in the class during the learning.

Why are students not allowed to take pictures or videos of other students?

Pictures or videos may be used to bully, harass, intimidate, or harm others. Any time you take a picture or video of any person, you must get consent from that person.

Consequently, we want you to know that the School District has a policy that aims to prevent racial, religious, disability, sexual orientation, or sexual harassment or violence. What is insubordination?
