They introduced new ways of cooking to the South. They brought new knowledge of harvesting cash crops such as rice. They supplied labor on the plantations.

Describe the conditions of African Americans/ Slaves going to the colonies and their treatment there.

They were forced to travel in unsanitary conditions in a ship across the Atlantic- this was known as the Middle Passage. Once there, the slaves were subject to brutal conditions and harsh treatment. They were beaten and denied rights.
