They can practice mindfulness activities to check in with themselves, ask staff for help, try to put into words what they are feeling, and think about what happened before this to better understand.
A patient is feeling overwhelmed and annoyed by some of the other patients in the lounge. What can they do to help themselves?
They can use coping skills to destress, go to their room to take a break, and ask the nurse for a prn if those don't help enough.

They can check into what areas of self-care they are struggling with and find activities and ideas to improve them. They can ask for help from others if they still need help.
