One of the goals of the Farm to Cafeteria grant involves reducing school-produced waste. What are ways Round Hill School is decreasing its waste?

School wide compost program, older students dish out younger students, left over food is sent home with local families, reheated or reused in other meals.

Studies have shown microgreens to be up to 40 times more nutrient dense than vegetables. Studies have also shown sprouts to have up to 30% more essential amino acids.

How are the Farm to Cafeteria meals helping students connect with the Round Hill community? 

Students are interacting with local farmers and producers to line up ingredients. 

Students are working along side local volunteers, learning skills and food literacy.
