A written instrument prepared by the Architect and signed by the Owner, Contractor, and Architect stating their agreement in change of project cost or time during construction.
Change Order.
Under Article 6 of A201, the Owner has the right to self perform this, in addition to awarding separate contracts for the purpose.
Construction.
The portion of the contract documents consisting of written requirements for materials, equipment, systems, standards and workmanship for the Work, and performance of related services.

Owner/Architect
Construction Manager as Constructor.
Family 3. i.e. A132 Owner Contractor, Construction Manager as adviser.
A written order prepared by the Architect and signed by the Owner and Architect, directing a change in the Work prior to agreement on adjustment, if any, in the Contract Sum or Contract Time, or both.
Construction Change Directive (Field Order).
Under Article 5 of A201, the Contractor shall award these as soon as practicable after award of the Contract.
Award of Subcontracts.
This term means the construction and services required by the Contract Documents, whether completed or partially completed, and includes all other labor, material, equipment, and services provided by the Contractor to fulfill the Contractor's obligations.

Owner/Architect.
Conventional or Design-Bid-Build.
Family 0. i.e. A101
The Architect may order these when it is consistent with the intent of the Contact Documents and does not involve and adjustment in Contract Sum or Time.
Minor Change in the Work. (Bulletin)
Under Article 4 of A201, the Architect shall review and approve, or take other appropriate action when checking these for conformance with information given and design concept expressed in the Contract Documents.
Contractor's submittals. (Shop Drawings, Product Data, Samples, etc.)
The person identified in the Agreement to render initial decisions on Claims.
Initial Decision Maker.

The costs of premiums of these may be included by the Contractor as related to a proposed change in the Contract sum during construction.
Bonds and/or insurance.
Under article 5 of A201, the Owner or Architect may reject one of these, requiring the Contractor to propose another.
Subcontractor.
The total construction of which the Work performed under the Contract Documents may be the whole or a part and which may include construction by the Owner and by Separate Contractors.

Rental costs for hand tools are not permitted to be included by the Contractor when submitting this during construction.
